From the Highlands to the Heart of SP

This year, Burns Night will be celebrated at the historic São Paulo Athletic Club (SPAC) — the birthplace of football in Brazil. Founded in 1888, it was here in 1895 that Charles Miller introduced the beautiful game to Brazil, sparking a passion that would define a nation.

There could be no more fitting setting — especially in a year when Brazil and Scotland find themselves in the same group in the 2026 World Cup. Two proud footballing nations, two distinct traditions, one shared stage.

Just as football once crossed oceans from Britain to Brazil, so too does the spirit of Robert Burns travel from the Highlands to São Paulo.

As tradition demands, the evening will feature stirring speeches, heartfelt poetry, lively Scottish dancing, and rousing music. And, as always, one or two surprises await.
